Police were attacked in Bristol, England as protestors at the “Kill the Bill” rally in opposition to the Police and Crime Bill became violent yesterday.

The scene, which Home Secretary Priti Patel remarked as being “unacceptable,” resulted in officers suffering from broken bones and police vans being lit on fire.

Rioters also scaled a police station, threw fireworks into the crowd, and drew graffiti on the walls.

“Thuggery and disorder by a minority will never be tolerated,” said Patel. “Our police officers put themselves in harm’s way to protect us all.”

Andy Ngo, Editor-at-Large of The Post Millennial, consistently covers the activities of Antifa and other far-left organizations, tweeted videos of the chaotic scene.

“The far-left riot in Bristol, England today quickly became violent,” he tweeted. “People tried to overturn a police van before setting it on fire at night and throwing explosives at police. An antifa flag waves in the background in some of the video.”

The Police and Crime Bill would give police chiefs more discretion in providing guidelines for a protest such as noise limits and a start and finish time.

The bill also includes other measures to crack down on crime, including increasing prison time for serious charges and allowing judges to sentence child murderers for life.

What started as a peaceful demonstration in support of freer protest became a violent and chaotic anti-police riot.
